Achen's Biography Born to Lanumeren and Yimjanglula of Mangmetong Village, Mokokchung District, Nagaland on April 23, 1983 at Tuensang Town, Nagaland, Achen Imchen has had a long and chequered musical career among the Generation Next singers from Nagaland. Given below is a brief profile of his musical Career including some highlights and milestones along the way. Like most musicians from the State, Achen Imchen (Achen from now on) got interested in music at a young age while still in school participating in school, church, CYE and Sunday School functions. Around the year 1999, Achen and a few of his friends from the Ao Baptist Church, Diphupar were encouraged by the Youth Director, Mr Tiayanger Longkumer to form a band and theycalled themselves ‘Cowboys for Jesus’. After being in the band for four years, he and his friends made a changeover and formed an Accapella band calling themselves the ‘Puttis’ this time around. |
